Guelph is proud to host this year’s Special Olympic 2016 Spring Games which will be held at the University of Guelph’s Athlete’s Village from May 26-28.
The games are dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through the power and joy of sport. The program offers several benefits:
- Helps instill confidence and self-esteem in athletes
- Contributes to healthier physical fitness habits
- Helps drive a change in attitudes to create a more inclusive society
The three day event will host over 900 athletes, coaches and 600 local volunteers. Athletes will take part in Basketball, Swimming, Powerlifting, Rhythmic Gymnastics, and 5 & 10 Pin Bowling competitions.
We are excited to support The Special Olympics of Ontario this year at Old Quebec Street Shoppes. We are so lucky to have this wonderful event in our community!
